Onboarding Upload Page Intro
The Onboarding Upload page is the first step of the BinaxPay verification process. This page is where users upload the documents required to continue their account setup and complete their identity verification.
In the authentication flow
At the top of the page, users can see their current onboarding progress. The progress section shows that the user is on Step 1 of 2: Upload, while the next step is still waiting to be completed. The progress bar and percentage indicator help users understand how much of the onboarding process has already been completed and what is still required before they can continue. The page also shows a clear list of missing requirements. This may include the identity document, proof of address, unfinished uploads, date of birth, gender, or other details needed to complete the onboarding file. The main purpose of this page is to collect two important document types: Identity document Proof of address In the Identity Document section, users choose which document they want to upload. The available options include Passport, National ID, and Driving Licence. If the user selects Passport, they need to upload the main passport page where the photo and personal details are visible. If the user selects National ID or Driving Licence, they need to upload both the front side and the back side of the document. This helps BinaxPay collect all required details from both sides of the document. The Proof of Address section is separate from the identity document section. This is where users upload a document that confirms their current residential address. The proof of address document should clearly show the user’s name, address, document date, and issuer. Each upload area is shown as a clear upload box. Users can click the upload box to select a file from their device, or they can drag and drop the file into the correct area. Each upload box explains what type of document is required, helping users understand exactly where each file should be added. If required documents are missing, the page shows a warning message explaining what still needs to be uploaded before the user can continue. This helps prevent incomplete submissions and guides the user through the process. Once the required documents are uploaded, the user can continue by clicking the Next button at the bottom of the page.

Onboarding Upload Modal Intro
- After a user uploads a document, BinaxPay opens a document details modal. This modal helps the user check the uploaded document, review the information detected from the file, and complete any missing details before saving.
- The modal is designed to make the onboarding process easier and more accurate. BinaxPay’s AI document reader scans the uploaded file and tries to read important information from the document automatically. This may include the user’s name, date of birth, gender, nationality, document number, issuing country, issue date, expiry date, and address details where available.
- The AI document reader is there to help the user fill the form faster. It does not replace the user’s responsibility to check the information. The user should carefully review every field and make sure the details match the uploaded document.
- If a field is empty, incorrect, or not detected correctly, the user can manually edit the field inside the modal before saving.
How to Fill the Modal
- When the modal opens, the user should first check that the uploaded document is correct and readable.
- The user should make sure that:
- The correct document was uploaded
- The correct side of the document was uploaded
- The image is clear and readable
- The full document is visible
- The corners are not cut off
- The document is not blurry, dark, cropped, or covered
- The name, number, photo, address, and dates can be clearly read
- If the uploaded file is not clear, the user should upload a better version before continuing.
- After checking the document, the user should review the fields inside the modal. Some fields may already be filled by the AI document reader. The user should compare each field with the uploaded document and correct anything that is missing or wrong.
- The user should fill all required fields exactly as shown on the document.
Identity Document Modal
- The Identity Document modal is used when the user uploads a Passport, National ID, or Driving Licence.
- Inside this modal, the user may need to confirm or complete the following details:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Nationality
- Document type
- Document number
- Issuing country
- Issue date
- Expiry date
- The user should enter the name exactly as it appears on the document. The spelling should match the passport, national ID, or driving licence.
- The date of birth should be selected correctly from the date field. The issuing country should be the country that issued the document. The document number should match the number printed on the document.
- If the document has an issue date and expiry date, the user should enter both dates correctly.
Passport Upload Modal
- If the user uploads a Passport, the modal should be completed using the information from the passport main page.
- The user should check and confirm:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Nationality
- Passport number
- Issuing country
- Issue date
- Expiry date
- The passport main page must clearly show the user’s photo, name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, and expiry date.
- If the AI document reader fills some passport details automatically, the user should still check them carefully before saving.
National ID Upload Modal
- If the user uploads a National ID, the user normally needs to upload both the front side and the back side of the document.
- The modal helps the user confirm the details detected from the ID card.
- The user should check and confirm:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Nationality
- National ID number
- Issuing country
- Issue date
- Expiry date
- Some national ID cards show important information on the back side, so the user should make sure both sides are uploaded when required.
- The front side should clearly show the user’s photo and main identity details. The back side should also be clear and readable if it contains additional document information.
Driving Licence Upload Modal
- If the user uploads a Driving Licence, the user may need to upload both the front side and the back side of the licence.
- The modal helps the user confirm the licence details.
- The user should check and confirm:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Licence number
- Issuing country
- Issue date
- Expiry date
- The driving licence image should clearly show the user’s photo, name, licence number, and dates.
- If some details are shown on the back side of the driving licence, the user should make sure the back side is also uploaded before continuing.
Proof of Address Modal
- The Proof of Address modal is used to confirm the user’s current residential address.
- After the user uploads a proof of address document, the modal may show address fields that need to be reviewed or completed.
- The user may need to fill or confirm:
- Proof of address type
- Address line 1
- Address line 2, if available
- City
- Postal code
- Country
- State or region, if available
- Issue date
- Issuer
- Phone number, if required or visible
- The user should enter the address exactly as it appears on the uploaded proof of address document.
- The proof of address document should clearly show:
- User’s name
- Full residential address
- Document issuer
- Document date
- Full readable page
- Examples of proof of address documents may include a utility bill, bank statement, residence document, tax document, official government letter, or another accepted address-confirming document.
- The user should not upload a cropped or incomplete document where the name, address, date, or issuer is missing.
Manual Editing Inside the Modal
- If the AI document reader does not detect a field correctly, the user can manually edit the information inside the modal.
- The user should manually correct:
- Wrong name spelling
- Missing name parts
- Wrong date of birth
- Wrong gender
- Wrong nationality
- Wrong document number
- Wrong issuing country
- Missing issue date
- Missing expiry date
- Incorrect address
- Missing city
- Missing postal code
- Missing country
- Wrong proof of address type
- This allows the user to complete the document information without uploading the file again, as long as the uploaded document itself is clear and correct.
Saving the Modal
- After reviewing the document and completing all required fields, the user clicks the Save or Continue button inside the modal.
- When the modal is saved, BinaxPay stores the uploaded document information as part of the onboarding process.
- If required fields are missing, the modal may show an error message and ask the user to complete the missing information before saving.
- The user should only save the modal after confirming that the uploaded document and the entered information match correctly.
Final Onboarding Guidance
- The user should complete all required uploads before clicking Next on the Onboarding Upload page.
- Before continuing, the user should make sure that:
- One identity document has been uploaded
- Proof of address has been uploaded
- All required document sides are uploaded
- All modal fields are reviewed
- Missing fields are completed manually
- Uploaded documents are clear and readable
- The entered information matches the documents
- After everything is completed, the user can continue to the next onboarding step. This helps BinaxPay keep the verification process clear, accurate, and easier for the user to complete.
